Consider a scenario where we need to import data into two entities that have some relationship, out-of-the-box Import wizard cannot establish the linkage while doing the data import. This is where Data Maps come into play.

Any XML editing tool can be used to create Data Maps. Steps to customize the Data Maps.

 

1. Under Data Maps view list select “Active Data Maps” and select the data map for export. Example “For Generic Contact and Account Data”
2. Save the XML file and edit using the XML text editor.
3. Import the Data Map and Activate.
